Linda McDonald was born in Southern Ireland and moved to Scotland at the age of seven. Specialising in midwifery for thirty-five years, she began her training as a nurse in Edinburgh at the age of eighteen. In 2005, Linda founded the charity MUMs. She is the author of the three hugely successful MUMs recipe books.
For her work with MUMs, Linda was recognised as Edinburgh's Citizen of the Year in 2008, awarded an honorary doctorate from Strathclyde University in 2010, and, in 2015, she received an OBE. Each of these honours she has accepted on behalf of all those who have supported MUMs.
